About This Spot

Stepping into Sabor Peruano is like being gently transported to the heart of Peru’s vibrant culinary and cultural scene, right in Fairfield. The energy is inviting and lively, a warm hum of conversation layered with rhythmic beats spilling softly from the DJ booth, calling to those who want more than just a meal — an experience where food, music, and movement blend seamlessly.

This isn’t just a steakhouse or seafood spot; it’s a welcoming crossroads of tradition and celebration. The pace is spirited but never rushed, with a buzz that suggests shared moments—whether it’s a quiet dinner with friends or joining the dance floor for a spontaneous celebration. The bar invites you to linger, where cocktails carry the sharp freshness of Peruvian citrus and the subtle warmth of Andean spices, perfectly complementing the colorful plates arriving at tables.

Here, the menu reads like a meaningful conversation with flavors and textures that reflect coastal breezes and mountain warmth. Dishes arrive with careful balance, often accompanied by simple sides that echo home-style comfort—an egg resting atop a tender steak, golden fried yuca alongside something bright and tangy. The seafood, vibrantly fresh, speaks to the country’s rich maritime traditions, while homey staples provide a sense of grounding that makes every bite feel familiar yet new.

The genuine hospitality colors every visit, making each meal feel thoughtfully crafted and authentically heartfelt. This is a place where the staff’s pride in their heritage is palpable—where conversations about the subtle smoky notes in a sauce or the perfect spice level can flow as easily as the laughter filling the room. Whether it’s the hum of sports highlights on the screen or the pull of salsa rhythms that keep you tapping your feet, Sabor Peruano invites you to discover a slice of Peru infused with local warmth.

Food is Amazing! Never a bad experience! A little pricey, but ALWAYS worth it!!! The quality is top notch! I eat here, or get a to go order at least once a week!

The food is unbelievable. You wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between the food they cook here and the food at a restaurant in Peru. Service is always amazing, and the atmosphere is fun. This place is a gem!

The food was amazing. The service was excellent. The Cau Cau was juicy and soft, with subtle umami flavors from the peas. The jalapeño in the in-house hot sauce paired well with the coconut they added to it.

The food was delicious, size of the plates more than perfect, I lived on Miami for 14 years, there you can find a lot of Peruvian restaurants, Sabor Peruano is one of the best!!!! Please you need to open one in Louisville, we don't have Peruvian restaurants here.

The food here is phenomenal. We stumbled upon here Wanting something different oh, and we were not disappointed. We've been coming back ever since. The food is fresh and hot and service is always very good. Most of the time the server is barely speak English, so you know the food is very authentic. Many of the dishes accompany rice, french fries, and egg at some point the steak is good and the green spaghetti is great

I haven't been to Peru but have been to other south American countries. I feel like the food here is "home cookin'" style. It's delicious and not pretentious. I've had a number of things but my favorite is the green (sort of a pesto) spaghetti with or without a meat. Pictured is the spaghetti with a lovely chicken breast seasoned nicely and pounded flat so it's nice and tender. The fried tilapia is also great. Also the french fries - not sure if it's the kind of potatoes they use or what.
